OBJECTIVES

  • Conceptualize a theme that is of interest

  • Utilize Photoshop skills and techniques

  • Create a unique solution to the traditional color wheel

  • Create a unified composition

  • Display an understanding of the color wheel

DIRECTIONS

1.Using copy paper, make a list of potential subjects for your color wheel

2. On copy paper, choose 3 of your subjects and plan out 3 different ideas for what you want to create.  You can do thumbnail sketches of how you might arrange the items for each idea

3. You may use images from the internet as references for original drawings or import them directly into Photoshop.

4. In Photoshop, FILE > NEW > and click OK

5. Go to FILE > SAVE AS and save your color wheel into your file with the name "LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_MYWHEEL.psd"

6. Begin drawing each piece of your color wheel. You MUST INCLUDE red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet in your wheel for a sufficient grade. Adding tertiary colors like red-orange will improve your grade.

7. When you have all of your drawings for each color, scan them into Photoshop or draw them with a tablet

8. When you are finished, SAVE YOUR WORK into the FINISHED WORK folder for STUDENT COLOR WHEEL

When you are finished, submit a rubric through Aspen!
